Shade Sail Repairs
Almost no Shade Sail too old or too damagedWash, Repair & Restitch Your Shade Sail
Give a tired sail a second life for less
Sun, rain and wind take a toll on every shade sail. Within a few years, dirt and mould settle into the fabric and the stitching starts to weaken. UV light breaks down thread much faster than cloth, so after 5 or 6 years your sail may need shade sail repairs and a full restitch to hold its shape.
Repairs by Real Sailmakers
An old or damaged sail is often worth saving, not binning
Quality HDPE shade fabric can last up to 50 years, so the cloth on your sail usually has plenty of life left. Our team washes it, restitches every seam and edge, and sends it back to you working like new. Want sun shade sail repairs near me without the cost of a new sail? You can expect to pay around half the price of a replacement.
Repair or Replace?
Shade cloth is woven from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which lasts far longer than the thread sewn into it. Once UV light weakens the thread, seams open while the cloth is still sound. Fixing the stitching costs less than buying new and keeps good fabric out of landfill. Storm damage often looks worse than it is, as most sails just pull apart at the seams. A shade sail repair kit can hold a small tear for a short time, but only a full restitch brings back proper tension. Need roof shade sail repairs near me? We fix sails taken down from roof brackets too.
Step 1 – A Deep Clean First
Every sail is washed before we pick up a needle. We hang it in our purpose-built washout bay and pressure clean both sides from top to bottom. No chemicals touch your fabric. Dirty water drains through a grease trap and sediment filter, and a licensed contractor takes it away for proper disposal.
Step 2 – Restitch & Shade Sail Repairs
Our machinists sew the entire sail again using modern UV-resistant thread, rated to last 8 to 9 years outdoors. Need it to last even longer? Choose PTFE marine thread instead. It carries a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty and suits sails you plan to keep for years.
